We are thrilled to announce that the latest issue of our biannual newsletter is out.
Released in the spring and the fall, we deep-dive into an aspect of our programs and services, or an important update at CHV. This month we focus on mental health!
The need for mental health supports among youth experiencing homelessness is significant. So many of the young people we support are stuck in survival mode, also known as fight or flight. It is close to impossible to improve mental health when your basic needs — access to shelter, food, and clothing — are unmet.
In this issue, learn about some of the mental health concerns that youth in our programs commonly experience; hear from one of our Registered Clinical Counsellors and Art Therapists, Caitlin Hall; and get an overview of the ways that CHV works to improve young people’s mental health through our wraparound services.
