Thank you, Scotiabank, for over a decade of support to Covenant House Vancouver and the vulnerable youth we serve.
This fall, Scotiabank has pledged $50,000 to match donations to our Triple Match Campaign. This means that for every dollar donated to help vulnerable youth, Scotiabank will match it, for three times the impact!
In addition to the Triple Match, Scotiabank staff have donated their time and energy to volunteer on site at Covenant House.
Staff at Scotiabank were excited to share their thoughts, and some members of the team created video snippets on how being involved with Covenant House spoke to the culture at Scotiabank and its involvement in the community.
“For me, Scotiabank’s involvement as a Triple Match Campaign partner speaks volumes to our financial commitment to support our community and youth. Covenant House’s housing programs especially resonate with me, because providing stability in young peoples’ living arrangements is the first step towards helping youth thrive.”
– Alexandra Julianto, Associate Director, Scotiabank Commercial Banking
“By supporting youth in need, it not only reflects our commitment to social responsibility, but also strengthens the ties that we have in our community. It also shows that regardless of someone’s background or experiences, that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and feel loved. What resonates with me the most about this partnership is that not every child or youth has equal access to opportunities. . So, I do believe that it is crucial, and ultimately our responsibility, to support and help alter the trajectory of their lives.”
– Cassandra Clark, Advice and Service Coach, BC and Yukon Region
“Being a Match partner speaks to the bond that Scotiabankers have within themselves and within the community. I really do hope to see all youngsters thrive in whatever they decide to do. I hope that they have access to the basic necessities to focus on what truly is important. And hopefully, they make a difference in society by contributing back, in the future, to other bright and rising individuals.”
– Haren Teckchandani, Branch Manager, 1st Ave. and Renfrew St. location
“Prior to my involvement as a first-time volunteer, to handwrite personal notes to donors, I honestly did not know much about Covenant House. After my first experience as a volunteer and what I learned that day, I felt, and I knew, that I had to take part to make a difference. I’m now a monthly donor and look forward to future volunteer participation. Thank you, Covenant House, for all your great support to the community.”
– Jose Jayme, Senior Manager, Payments and Cash Management
Thank you to everyone at Scotiabank for their involvement in the community and for their support to at-risk and vulnerable youth!
