Through their ScotiaRISE initiative, Scotiabank will invest $500 million, over 10 years, to promote economic resilience among disadvantaged groups. They believe that by working together to remove barriers to advancement and increase access to opportunities, we can create a more inclusive and resilient world for every future.
Scotiabank has been a supporter of Covenant House for over 12 years! They were a part of our expansion project that resulted in our amazing facility at 1280 Seymour Street, which has enabled us to increase our programs and services to vulnerable youth. They have also been donors for our fall of 2022 Triple Match Campaign.
Recently, a team from Scotiabank came to Covenant House to handwrite personal notes of thanks to donors, and prepare sunscreen packages for our front desk and Outreach teams to hand out to youth.
This is what Hang Zhou, Branch Manager at Scotiabank, had to say about the team’s experience at Covenant House:
“Thanks to you and your team, I have learnt so much in such a short period of time, and I salute you for the great work that you and your team are carrying out every day. Covenant House is a home and safe haven to so many homeless and at-risk youth, and we are truly honoured to be invited into their home today, to make a positive difference. For over 25 years, you have given relentless support, absolute respect, and unconditional love to the youth who need it the most. We are proud to stand by you today, to show our support and love!
As a people manager who is an out and proud queer, when I learned that more than 35% of all of the youth that you serve belong to the 2SLGBTQAI+ community, I was deeply touched, and I want to say a big thank you to Covenant House for doing the heavy lifting to support those young people. What you do is so dear and close to my heart, and I’d love to contribute whatever I can to make your organization better and stronger.
If we could all dedicate a little more love to others, the world would become a better paradise. We are so fortunate to have Covenant House in our community.”
From everyone at Covenant House Vancouver, thank you so much, Scotiabank, for your continued support!
