Congratulations Joy MacPhail!

We are honoured to share that Joy MacPhail has been appointed by the Lieutenant Governor, Janet Austin, to the Order of BC.

We are lucky and privileged to have Joy as a Covenant House Vancouver Board Member. As an experienced board member having served on several boards, she brings a wealth of experience and insight to our agency.

Earlier this year, Joy was appointed to the Order of Canada, where she was recognized for her pioneering contributions to politics and her tireless advocacy of underserved and marginalized communities.

Joy MacPhail served as an elected member of British Columbia’s Legislative Assembly, representing Vancouver-Hastings from 1991 to 2005. During this time, she served in a variety of roles, including Minister of Health, Minister of Finance, Deputy Premier, and Leader of the Opposition.

Congratulations, Joy MacPhail, for this well-deserved and most prestigious honour!
