Hockey Helps the Homeless Foundation is a non-profit hockey charity that has partnered with Covenant House Vancouver for the past 10 years. They raise critical funds and increase awareness of at-risk youth and those experiencing homelessness. Every year, cities across Canada host Pro-Am hockey tournaments where players raise funds to make a direct impact in their own community. The organization has brought together passionate leaders who “play with purpose” and believe that every Canadian should have a safe place to call home and the supports that they need to thrive.
We would like to highlight two of our very special supporters, Patrick Robinson and Linda Devlin, who recently arranged for a generous grant of $50,000 to be directed towards our Crisis Program.
This compassionate funding will enable youth to have a safe and stable environment as they work through their trauma. This includes a warm bed, medical attention, and healthy food, as well as 24-hour access to staff, who are there to support their individual needs. The timing of this donation also coincides with the move of the Crisis Program into the new building at 1280 Seymour Street. Here, youth will experience enhanced in-house services such as an educational classroom, a library and computer room, an art therapy room, a gym, a fitness studio, and counselling rooms
Thank you, Hockey Helps the Homeless Foundation for all that you do to support the youth at CHV!
