On June 16, we celebrated the opening of our new, 10-storey building, located at 1208 Seymour. Soon, staff and youth will be moving in and acclimatizing themselves to the new space.
The opening of this new building marks the completion of phase two of our three-phase expansion project.
Purpose-Built
We say that the new building is purpose-built, but what does that mean?
The youth that we serve were consulted during the planning stages of the expansion project. They requested features like more natural light, warmer colours, wood finishes and quiet spaces. These requests were included in the design of the physical spaces, along with safety features, and functionality — to enable healing and growth.
The new building means more beds, a larger kitchen and eating area, along with new spaces, such as a full-size gymnasium, fitness room, wellness room, classroom, computer room, and quiet spaces. This means that we will be able to expand our programs and services that we currently offer, along with the ability to offer new programs and services.
Thank You!
This building would not have been possible without the amazing donors who contributed to our Capital Campaign, along with the incredible support of the community.
