Scotiabank is celebrating their 10-year giving anniversary to CHV, this January. Covenant House Vancouver is grateful to have Scotiabank as a valued community partner, helping create the space needed to provide a positive future and independence for homeless youth in our community.
“Like Scotiabank, Covenant House believes that if we change the arc of a young person’s life, we can set them on a path to a positive, fulfilling future as a healthy and contributing member of their community,” said Zak Khokhar, Scotiabank’s District Vice President. “We are proud to celebrate this milestone with Covenant House and will continue to support their work to strengthen our communities, for every future.”
As we look back at this incredible partnership, we would like to give a heart-felt thank you to Scotiabank for enabling us to support our youth through programs and services that help them gain control of their lives.
We are getting closer and closer to opening our new 10-storey facility at the corner of Drake and Seymour. Such an undertaking would not have been possible without the support of amazing partners like Scotiabank. Their generous gift of $300,000 to our expansion project will help us better serve our youth, as we will be able to offer more programs and services like fitness facilities, an art therapy room, and classrooms, in addition to almost doubling the space for residential programs.
The pandemic brought with it many challenges for individuals, organizations and businesses. Fundraising became critical for us, so that we could keep our doors open and serve the increase in homeless and at-risk youth. Through their ScotiaRISE initiative, Scotiabank was one of the matching donors for our Triple Match Campaign this past November/December. Their contribution helped us inspire philanthropy in others and leverage all our donations.
As we move into 2022, and eagerly await the opening of our new facility and services, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Scotiabank for being such an integral and gracious partner.
