This November 18th, Sleep Out: Executive Edition will return for its 10th year! We’re challenging you to join us by giving up your bed for one night to raise awareness and funds. Stand in solidarity with the youth we work with at Covenant House Vancouver, many of whom are currently facing three unique and challenging crises: homelessness, COVID-19, and the Opioid Overdose Crisis.
Sleep Out and support our Crisis Program
By signing up to Sleep Out or making a donation, you can be a part of the movement to help change the lives of the young people staying in our Crisis Program. Your commitment to one night of discomfort will provide youth with many nights of safety. You’ll allow the Crisis Program to:
- Fulfill the basic needs of food, clothing, and hygiene supplies.
- Provide youth with access to social workers, youth workers, and registered clinical counsellors.
- Support youth with their employment and education goals.
- Offer recreational opportunities such as yoga, soccer, hockey, basketball, and baseball.
As Covenant House Vancouver is 95% privately funded, your generous support through vital fundraising initiatives such as Sleep Out is what enables us to be accessible to youth 24/7 – even throughout a global pandemic.
The youth we work with are resilient and inspiring. Their journeys towards independence all look different, but your kindness helps each and every one of them.
Some examples of these incredible feats include:
Jenny, who recently discovered the joy of sport as a self-care activity.
Shelly, who was able to relax and feel completely safe for the first time since she could remember after coming to our Crisis Program.
This year, no matter where you choose to spend the night – whether that’s your own living room, balcony or backyard – join together to show all young people that they are deserving of unconditional love, absolute respect, and relentless support!
