We are excited to share that we received a generous grant of $50,000 from RBC Foundation, which will directly fund mental health support for all youth who access services at Covenant House Vancouver. RBC Foundation has partnered with Covenant House Vancouver for over 20 years, providing timely and age-appropriate mental health care for youth, many of which have undiagnosed mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
As champions of mental health, RBC Foundation is familiar with how mental health challenges can impact the behaviour and relationships of the youth we serve and how Covid-19 restrictions have exacerbated their existing stressors. Thanks to our incredible partnership, our Registered Clinical Counsellors have been able to quickly adapt how they offer various types of psychotherapies to our young people this past year in order to better navigate the new complexities of the pandemic.
RBC Foundation’s critical funding of our Mental Health Program will allow us to continue providing support so youth can improve the management of their mental health and increase their self-efficacy for healthy lives away from homelessness.
