Today, we want to say a big, “Thank You” to our friends at Cory’s Law for raising over $4,000 for the young people here at Covenant House Vancouver this year.
The fundraiser, done in memory of Cory Monteith and to mark his 39th birthday, was hoping to raise $3,900 towards Covenant House (a charity that meant a lot to Cory). But thanks to the amazing support of the community, the campaign closed with $4,128 raised!
These funds will be put to work immediately to help young people overcome the dangers and challenges of homelessness. They will provide them with the essential programs and services to help them work towards a happy, healthy, and independent future. One such service is our Art Therapy Program, through which our Registered Clinical Counsellors use visual arts and the creative process to support and improve the mental health and well-being of the young people here at CHV.
Once again, we want to express our deep gratitude to Cory’s Law. Thank you, too, to the kind and generous members of the community that supported this campaign. Thank you for “being the change Cory wanted to see in the world”.
