Make a Will for Free!

Gifts made through a Will allow you to show your commitment to the vulnerable young people in our community while at the same time reducing the taxes payable by your estate, helping you ensure your loved ones are provided for. Last year, we were able to work with more than 100 young people every day thanks to community support.

Estate gifts are a vital part of that support so we wanted to make sure our Covenant House family is aware of our recently formed partnership with the Canadian Free Wills Network that enables you to have your Will written or updated at no cost to you, through a local lawyer or notary.

Having an up-to-date Will gives you peace of mind. It is also a wonderful opportunity to include a bequest to the many deserving homeless and at-risk youth that come through our doors. We hope that you will see this program as the perfect way to satisfy your estate planning objectives and to support Covenant House Vancouver.

There are several different types of charitable bequest that can be included in your estate plans, but two of the main ones are a residual bequest that gives all or a percentage of the remainder of an estate to the charity; a specific bequest that gives a stated gift of cash or property (such as stocks or real estate) to the charity.
