One of the many things that have changed in our lives as a result of the coronavirus is the luxury of going out to eat. Whether it is for a slice of pizza or a sit-down dinner, there is something special about eating out. And that is no different for Covenant House youth.
Last Friday evening, young people in both our Seymour and Pender buildings were treated to their own take out meal, a Canadian favourite A&W. Over 150 Teen burgers and fries were delivered to our doorsteps, and the A&W team even customized the order based on food preferences and allergies.
A favourite among the youth was the Teen Burger with beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato and most importantly bacon! A youth shared that bacon makes everything extra tasty. The Beyond Meat burger was phenomenal and was a big hit with our vegetarians. Our Kitchen staff said the young people were thrilled with this special treat and they received many smiles and thanks from our youth.
Thank you, A&W, for being so generous and thoughtful!
