Our male Crisis Program thought it would be a fun idea for the youth to try making their own soap. The youth workers weren’t sure how it would be received but the young men loved it and had a blast!
Eleven youth participated in designing their own soaps. They each got to select a soap base, colour scheme, scent and pattern. Some of them threw together a frenzy of colours and concocted unique scents like mango/lime/coconut. While others took a more restrained approach, sticking to a single colour and a classic scent like vanilla.
The most challenging part was waiting the 45 minutes for the soap to solidify before each of the guys could walk away proudly with their own special bar of soap.
