Free and fun summer outings with our youth

At the beginning of August, I went with our young people on two great outings. One evening we watched the Celebration of Lights and another night we went to the open-air cinema at Canada Place to watch the Mama Mia sing along movie. Our youth had so much fun at both events.

We waited for a couple of hours sitting on some rocks near English Bay to have a great view of the fireworks with no one in front of us. We all were really impressed with the display and shouted the usual “oohhhs” and ahhhs” as the sky was lit up by the beautiful fireworks.

At the open-air cinema I was singing along to the good old Abba songs while the youth only knew very few or none of the songs and but tried their best to sing along as well. It was a very fun atmosphere and at some point, we did not know if we should watch the movie or the other viewers singing and dancing along.

Having a chance to take our youth to fun and free activities is always a summer highlight for both the youth and for me.
