The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has been a generous supporter of Covenant House Vancouver and our young people. Recently their team volunteered with us in our Gifts-in-Kind area to help organize and sort donations of clothing and other items. YVR also donated $18,428 this spring, an incredible investment in the local community.
The impact of YVR’s donation will be felt across our Continuum of Care as it is:
- Enabling Outreach workers to find 15 vulnerable youth on the street, offer them food, and invite them to our programs
- Giving 14 youth access to the Drop-In Centre where they are receiving food, shower facilities, clothing, and support from youth workers
- Fully supporting one youth for 30 days in the residential Crisis Program
- Supporting all 25 youth in the Rights of Passage transitional housing program for one day
